Mr. Kaplun brings over 20 years of experience in finance, operations, and business development bridging the realms of entertainment, venue development, construction, operations, and technology. His expertise lies in developing and executing robust financial processes that drive scalable growth, ensuring operational and financial transparency for startups, early-stage companies, and new venue construction projects.
He has held leadership roles at some of the world’s leading entertainment and media companies, including Sphere Entertainment, NBC Universal, and 20th Century Fox.
Most recently at Sphere Entertainment, Mr. Kaplun’s leadership was instrumental in setting up the financial strategy for the successful opening of the Sphere venue, managing financial planning and analysis across Sphere Studios, Venue Construction, and Operations groups. This included overseeing budgeting, forecasting, cost reporting, and setting up financial controls. He also led the finance function for the Venue Technology teams which led development of new sounds systems, cameras, and interactive technology and managed all content production finance for both Sphere and Exosphere.
Mr. Kaplun’s experience extends to the SaaS technology sector, where he served as CFO of a publicly traded SaaS company. In this role, he worked closely with private equity firms and investment bankers to prepare the company for a Nasdaq IPO, raising over $7 million in debt and equity capital. He also implemented key financial policies and KPIs to position the company for long-term growth.
Finally, as Senior Vice President of Operations and Managing Director of Latin American Productions at 20th Century Fox, Mr. Kaplun spearheaded the company’s expansion into Latin American markets, leading production initiatives in Argentina, Mexico, Colombia, Brazil, and Chile.
